Gemzar, Zarxio and day to day energy

How do I conserve my energy with my new Gemzar/Zarxio routine? Has anyone a "game plan?"

I feel useless and lazy. Before this, I was exercising 5-6 days a week and was very active with my dog. When I started Gemzar I tried to continue my exercise regime, but found out that the more I did the worse I felt. And I ended up kicking my own ass with even the least activities (like food shopping) immediately after the Thursday infusion.

I know everyone is different, but has anyone figured out how to recover from Gemzar and then have a few days of energy? I get pumped with dexamethasone before the Gemzar on Thursdays, so I feel initially great on Thursday and Friday. But if I do anything, I end up on my ass for days.

Should I just do nothing for the first three days after chemo? Will that give me some more strength to go on to do some normal exertion for the days that follow? Can anyone share with me how they plan their week after chemo?

Thanks for your insights.
