Everything has been going really well for me. I had a CT and bone scan Monday and got the results Wednesday. I was a little surprised by the CT results, as I wasn't expecting anything. I knew something was up when the nurse came in and asked how I've been doing, any changes since last visit, etc. She gave me the results of my bone scan - all clear (great news - but wasn't expecting anything). And then she said...the doctor has your CT results. Oh crap! Well, the report said "No definitive evidence of metastasis" (again - great news). "New: Bandlike area of increased attenuation within the anterior peritoneum that measures 3.4 cm in diameter." They recommend a follow-up CT in 6-8 weeks. So, I'm scheduled for another CT in May. MO was asking if I was taking any new meds or supplements...no. Have I been sick recently...no (knock on wood with the crazy flu this year!). I thought she was talking about IN my stomach, but come to find out this is not the case. I was concerned thinking about IN my stomach because I have two great aunts that died of stomach and esophageal cancer. MO also said that it's unusual to see this result in the abdomen - they usually see it in the lungs. Just curious as to what the heck this is...has anyone had similar results? Thanks in advance!

The peritonium is the tissue that holds all of the abdominal organs in place. It is just a gooey membrane that surrounds the organs and supports the viscera.

Hoping it is unchanged in your next scan!!!

Thank you for responding Kbeee. I know what the peritoneum is😬. I’m more curious about the 3.4 cm “attenuation”. I love my doctor, but she likes to give the bare minimum information until she knows for absolute certain. Which I totally understand to some degree. Some patients don’t want to know the “what if’s”. The “unknown” drives me crazy!😜 I have a very active imagination😜 But I can just wait it out until May😔
