Here I go again...
Last year, around this time, I felt a lump in my right breast at the 6'oclock position right under my nipple. I had been feeling sharp bee sting pains in my nipple and aching and other "mystery" pains in my breast for about six months. I was also occasionally feeling some aching and weirdness in my left. I have silicone implants so I attributed this to maybe leaky implants or something like that. Dr referred me to my first mammo/US at 38. Dr didn't like what he saw on the mammo and US and gave me Bi Rads 4b and a US guided CNB appt. Biopsy came back as a fibroadenoma. No implant rupture or leakage shown either. I still had pain so I opted to get it removed and really just wanted it OUT. Got it removed in August. Pathology came back and there was ADH throughout the tumor. My Dr was shocked! She told me she was extremely surprised and I had to answer a bunch of questions about my family and other risk factors to see if I need to do something else like genetic testing.
What if I had just left it in there and not gone with my gut on it? Anyways, I had also found a lump in my left breast by then and asked her to US it while I was there. It's obviously palpable by me but hard to find by others. She couldn't find it on US and said it was probably just a lipoma or small cyst. It's not that small, feels about the size of a marble. So, I tried to ignore it till my annual mammo last week. I mentioned to them that I had a lump and that I was still experiencing aching and pain in my right breast, sometimes in the left too, but the bee sting pains were gone. The mammo report was that no masses detected, no distortion, no calcs, but “enlarged left axillary lymph node" not fully seen on picture. The mammo did not pick up the lump on the left. Due to my complaints, lymph node, and palpable lump, I wasgiven BiRads 0 and scheduled BiLat US and Diagnostic mammo left side. My questions are; how is it that I got a dx of benign fibro in March 17, only to get a dx of ADH by Sept on the same lump? It was a CNB and he took a bunch of samples. Also, the lump on the left can't be seen by US or mammo I guess. How is that? What could be causing an enlarged lymph node? Haven't been sick and no injuries
