    Dear All,

I am from India. First of all i would like to thank each & everyone here and this wonderful community. Although i am not frequent participant of all the discussiosn here but i often come here and read.

My mother (62 Yrs old) is being treated for BC Metastatic (Lung and extensive bone metastat) since last 2.5 years.

In last pet scan, we have come to know that the disease is progressed to liver. My mother is the strongest woman i ever seen in my life.

Since last few weeks, she is experiencing the lower back pain and same time abdominal pain. She is regular to her normal eating habit but this pain is really bothering her very much. She has been suggested to 3 cycles of Halaven/eribulin chemotherapy.

I would request you to please suggest or advise.

Hope and love to you guys.

    Best regards,

    Lalit.

Ive had 9 cycles if Eribulin and its an easy chemo to manage. Im still on it and so far all is stable in liver/bone mets. Tell her not to worry and do the chemo.

When I started Eribulin, I had 4 liver tumours. Within 3 months 2 had gone and the other 2 have remained stable. The Chemo may give her some relief from the pain if the tumours disappear. My Onc keeps telling me this is a very good chemo.

Sharjin: Thank you for your concern for my mom. She had completed one cycle of Halaven, since last 8-9 months, she has been down with low HGB due to continuous therapies, so she has been taking blood transfusion b4 next chemo cycle. She has little improvement in terms of back & abdominal pain. But as you know this journey is roaler coaster ride, a week before she has developed pain in one of leg so currently facing issue in free movement. She has extensive bone mats. We are waiting for CT scane report to get clear detail about this.

Halaven was not so tough as compare to other chemo s yet I think, it's too early to find the impact. She has lost almost all her hair.

My best wishes and prayers for your mom.

Sharmal, have the oncologist considered radiation therapy for bone mets? I am not sure but I heard that radiation therapy works best for bones and controls pain, if it’s applicable for extensive bone met

Sharmal, hopefully your mom will feel a lot better with next treatment. She has been doing well for 2.5 years even after being TNBC and stage 4, she will keep fighting for longer. Keep us posted and would love to know about the updates.
