I need advise how to care for my Sil, 59 years she has IBC with sloughing tissue, bloody drainage, painful like a burn. Rapidly spreading across her chest. Any help with treatments, dressings & comfort measures for this. Any creams or ointment, best dressing to use? Thank you.

Agree with seeing a doctor ASAP, please! If it has broken through her skin and spreading fast, it is likely rapidly spreading elsewhere (speaking from experience). When my IBC ulcerated/fungated, I was assigned a wound care specialist. We used silver rope dressing. the wound was cleaned daily with saline spray, rope applied and then covered with a gauze bandage (and it is no fun to change that dressing because the rope absorbs all of the gunk and has to be carefully picked out of the wound). Once the wound started drying we switched to SilvAbsorb, available only with a prescription. It took 5 months plus chemo before the wound healed completely and all of the scabbing fell off. I was on a fairly heavy dose of morphine (every 4 hours) because the pain was 9-10 all of the time (but the tumor was also in my brachial nerves which contributed to the pain). She needs to see a doctor ASAP.
