Hello. I had my bilateral mastectomy two weeks ago. Feeling pretty good pain wise. I do notice I feel sunburned under my upper arms which I have heard others decribe. Wondering if this lasts long term? I do get occasional “zingers” I know is nerves healing. One thing that is really annoying to me is that when I get cold and get goosebumps, my chest feels very tingly-it’s sort of hard to describe! It stands out tho. Wondering if anyone else can describe it or has experienced this??

Yes to all. Expect various zaps, sensitivity, and weird sensations for awhile. It's normal. Have you tried drinking a glass of cold water yet? For some people, it feels like the water is running over your chest. This abates after awhile.

    Hi,

i'm 7 months out. Pretty good except in my right armpit. Still a little sensitive. Not sure if its because it is my dominant side and was cancer side. Only had sentinel nodes out. Anyway, most of the zingers are gone. Still get occasional itchy underneath the boob skin sensations. I've read where some have nerve regeneration sensations even after a few years.

Glad to hear you have been doing well.

beach2beach I’m glad to hear things get better. I hear some women have much more sensitivity than I currently do so I still consider myself lucky! I notice the sunburn feeling under my arms is already getting a little better! It’s definatly a long road!!
