Pathology reports prior to surgery

My wife was recently diagnosed with IDC. Looking through this thread I'm wondering, should we take the pathology report of the biopsy with a grain of salt and wait for pathology after a lumpectomy?

I think biopsy is generally correct, but yes, you don’t know anything 100% until surgery

A grain of salt yes, but it's probably going to be pretty close. But the surgery pathology is what decides further treatment/staging, etc. Mine was spot on an exact match.
