Hi,

My mom has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her age is 61yrs. She underwent mastectomy right breast. During surgery her slnb was positive. Just received her pathology report yesterday. The report states pt2/n1/mx stage 2b. Her doc has recommended chemo. I am curios to know what mx means as I am clear with what t3/n1 means. And if MX means distant metastasis cannot be assessed. Then why is that. And should I be worried about cancer spread to other parts of the body. Apparently pet scan was not recommended for my mom. Will she now be recommend by her oncologist. Her ER/PR is positive & ner2 is negative. Ki67 is 3percent. LVI POSITIVE

Eagerly waiting for your responses.

    usually MX stands for mastectomy.

    Sorry about your Mom

She could ask for thr Onco typw test to see if chemo would benefit her. Its approved for tbose with poaitive nodes too. May be good to ask her oncologist.

Good luck she's lucky to have you helping her

I agree. Your mom should have the Oncotype DX test, especially since her Ki67 is so low. That means the cells are dividing slowly and chemo is for rapidly dividing cells. What were her Estrogen and Progesterone percentages? Grade? 1 positive of how many nodes taken? FYI...My KI67 was also 3% and my Oncotype Dx indicated that chemo would actually lower my 10 year outlook. I had micromets in 1 node.
