Post-treatment Xeloda fatigue

Hi all.  This is my first post and hoping to get some feedback on this.  Due to grade 3, high markers, my onco prescribed Xeloda for preventive purposes (clear margins, lymph nodes after dose dense chemo/lumpectomy/rads, tho).  I've had hand/foot and some GI issues but tolerable.  What isn't tolerable is the increasing fatigue. It's affecting my work, I can't work out or even go for a walk anymore. So, I want to stop taking 1/2 way through the eight-round cycle. Saw onco today who strongly urges I do NOT stop.  Here's my question - he's prescribed Cymbalta to help with the fatigue.  I'm now researching and can't imagine why he thinks this will help- all posts indicate it CAUSES fatigue.  I'm not depressed, anxiety occasionally but nothing worth medication so that's not why he wants me on this.  Has anyone else been prescribed this for fatigue?

I’m into round 7/8. I was just thinking today that I’ll be so happy not to be so tired all the time. I hope you can stick it out

thank you for your response IntegraGirl

So glad you are almost (already?) through! I started round 4 and hit with fatigue so bad but I know the benefits are worth trying to make it all the way. I’m not going to take the Cymbalta...after last year from hell and this X I really don’t but want to add any new meds to mix. Maybe just more Starbucks. Ha
