I went to a breast surgeon yesturday. I lost my mom to bc 4 yrs ago to bc and grandmother as well. Last couple of weeks been doing a bunch of test mammos ultrasounds, mri, biopsies the works. End result is intraductal papilloma. 3 yrs ago I did the BRCA test. Which came back negative. So seeing the breast surgeon. It was discussed to remove the papilloma. He then mentioned doing another round of genetic testing. I said ok that’s scheduled for tomorrow. Last night I found my previous test. It said negative but the ATM mutation was found. After doing some reading is going with the mastectomy a smarter option

Sounds like a meeting with a genetics counselor is in order. There are new developments in genetics all the time. They would be in a good position to advise you on the latest recommendations for your particular situation.
