Simulation Question

I just thought of this now...during the simulation I will be marked up with ink. but there may be anywhere from 8 to 12 days before radiation starts. I'm going to have to take a shower and wondering what happens to the marks? Did any one else have to wait that long between simulation and treatment?

Veeder14– during my simulation they applied 3 small (emphasis on small) tattoos and then a few markings with something like a sharpie which were covered with clear circles. Those clear circle patches remained on for almost all of the rads I had. One clear patch fell off after a shower about 1/2 way thru rads and was replaced by the techs without issue, another fell off after a shower with 2 rads to go and was not replaced. Just follow the showering directions from your RO and you should be fine

If you are getting sharpie marks instead of tattoos, they will cover it with a clear plastic sticker that should stay on pretty well. I had 2 tattoos and one sharpie mark that they had to redo every so often (after port films). Sharpie also takes awhile to wash off, so just don't scrub the skin if the sticker falls off. During my boost treatment they circled the entire area with sharpie and it took forever to wash off!!

I had 11 days between simulation and the start of treatment, but didn't get the sharpie mark until the first treatment I think.
