Second Reconstruction Following Recurrence

My mom was diagnosed with a stage 3B recurrence after 14 years. They may have to redo her previous reconstruction on one side due to the need to remove extra skin and muscle during surgery for wide margins. Also, the RO said they may need to remove her non-cancer implant in order to get a wider field during rads.

She is currently debating between a second recon or going flat.

Have any of you had to reconstruct both sides twice? What was your experience?

Thanks so much for anything you can share!
