    lcis_5, what you posted is nothing new. Discussions about the question of DCIS overtreatment come up regularly on this board. There have already been many good discussions about this topic and there no doubt will be many more.

    The doctor who writes the site you noted is a General Practioner who specializes in nutrition. While his information may be interesting and helpful, I would advise women diagnosed with DCIS to get their medical advice from doctors who specialize in breast cancer. And if reading about DCIS treatment on the internet, I'd recommend sites and articles written by experts who specialize in DCIS.

    Any discussion of DCIS overtreatment that doesn't discuss nuclear grade is suspect, IMO. The risk varies greatly by grade, which is well-documented.
