Hi everyone. I have been fussing since November 30. I am 46......I went to my OB after noticing quite a bit of lumpiness in my right breast while drying my hair one morning. One lump is at 12 o'clock and probably the size of a quarter, the other at 9 o'clock maybe a bit smaller. The OB wasn't at all convinced she could see them, neither of us can feel them. I had taken pictures of them in my home....I whipped them out to show her. She referred me on over to get a 3D mammogram and a diagnosti US which both turned up nothing but a 5cm intrammmory lymph node that I seem to be the only one freaking out about. Birads 2.

Back to the OB. I can still see these lumps. So, she booked me in with a breast surgeon which took two months to get in. I'm a low priority. Finally, my appointment is Monday. There is no BC in my family apart from my paternal grandmother's sister 40 years ago. I have myself so worked up over these stories of mammograms and US missing cancers. I'm ashamed to say these were my baselines. I have nothing to compare.

Would love to hear what anyone thinks. I've gained about 25 pounds in the last two years. Could it be fat?

Xo

Hi there suedehead. Lots of us have lumpy breasts from a variety of benign conditions. If a 3D mammogram and an ultrasound found only a benign lymph node issue I'd say you're in the clear. But - no harm in speaking with a specialist. I wish you only good news.

Thanks Georgia1. I'm losing my mind and I've worried about this for three months now...it is a way of life. I can't believe the technology can miss things....I have had plenty of time to read the stories. The puckering worries me...and the lumps are big....and visible...like lipomas. Ugh. I don't know at this point if any answer will satisfy me....I am so wrapped around the axle.
