I have just been told that I have the brca2 mutation gene and have talked to my doctor. I have not had nor have breast cancer as far as we know so far. I am curious as to what everyones views are on the mastetamoty verses the pills and mri/mamos . i am leaning toward one way but have had opions from people on both sides.

    Hi Isisk-

It's good that you're being proactive after finding out you carry the mutation. Both prophylactic treatments have positives and negatives, and it's really about what works best for you, and what you're most comfortable with. In addition to the information in this forum, you might find some helpful information in our High Risk for Breast Cancer forum: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/47.

Whichever treatment plan you decide on, we wish you the best!
