Tissue expanders had to go under the muscle

The initial plan was for the TE's to go over the pec. Apparently after they got in there, I didn't have enough fat and skin to cover so they had to go under. Now I feel like it hurts like hell and it will with every fill. Anyone else have a similar experience or am I just being a wimp. Someone please tell me it will get better or when I get fills it won't be awful

It will get better. I found the first few weeks were the hardest, the tightness was painful. The fills were uncomfortable for a day then I would be ok. They also got easier each week. Definitely go slow if you can. I did 50cc every week but had to rush to start radiation. I had my last fill around thanksgiving and not doing the exchange until sept. I have definitely gotten used to the expanders but I haven’t had any complications and they sit at a normal position. My biggest complaint would be that they just don’t move.

Thank you, that does make me feel better. I just wasn't expecting the heaviness and soreness. I'm not looking to go much bigger than a small B (was a 34a) so hoping there won't be too many fills. I'm also a bit paranoid about getting an infection. My drain sites we're just left open to air and was told no showering until they come out. So for now I guess I just try not to mess with anything and wipe the site a little with an alcohol wipe.

Mine was sore for a few days after a fill as well. Even if you only want a small size, they need to make a bigger pocket than you'd think to stretch enough tissue and skin to work with. Hang in there, it will get better!!
