Anyone else waiting for the thaw? What are your favorite places to get out of the house during the winter?

THAW?!?!?! It's a friggen' jungle here now! Surprised that I'm the first one to reply in 5 months, doesn't seem very "Minnesota Nice". As far as getting out of the house, depends on how cold it is. I'll still go on walks to/around the nearest lake. If you need warm temps, the tropics area at the MN Zoo is nice. I'd love to hear how you are doing now that you are all done with chemo and how it went. I'm starting the same regimen in 3 days...

Not a very active group, I see. Just stopped in one the eve of my first chemo to wave hello.

Are there any ladies going through or recently finished with their active treatment?

MLAnne - how is your chemo going? Hope as well as can be.

Finished RADs in Oct. Been dealing with LE and SE ever since. Le Sigh. Started Tamoxifen 5 mg in March. Waiting on a CAT Scan this week due to severely low WBCs.

Would be nice to connect with some who are in the area. Sending hugs and healing.

Sorry, since I've finished Chemo in March I haven't been around much. Finished RADs the end of April and have pretty much resumed life as normal. Just anxiously waiting for the day I have enough hair to stop wearing my wig.

Sorry to hear about your SEs, Spoonie77. Sending positive thoughts your way.

Just thought I'd check again to see if anyone else is in my "neck of the woods".

MLAnne - hope your hair has grown leaps and bounds in the past few months. Glad to hear your life has resumed a more normal timeline. :)

I'm in the Twin Cities area too. I've gone through chemo, BMX and rads over the last year. I started taking Letrozole this past spring and other than weight gain (or it could be the food), I'm doing pretty good with it.

Lol they do exist! I've been going to hear from some "neighbors" for quite awhile. Very flag to heart from you both, Sunflower and TinkTheTonk. :)

Newbie here. Hello my fellow Minnesotans :) I’m from the St. Paul suburbs. Just diagnosed this month (12/2019)and still trying to take it all in and learn this new language.

Hi, I didn’t realize there was a Twin Cities group here! I grew up in White Bear Lake, spent nearly 30 years in Shoreview before moving back to WBL. We spend winters in Vero Beach FL. I’ll be starting treatment in FL and continuing in MN.

Hi! We're usually back in WBL by Memorial Day but I think we'll need to stay in FL until my first six chemo sessions are complete. Then back to MN for every three weeks Herceptin & Perjeta. May I ask who your oncologist is? I'll need someone there to coordinate care.

My oncologist is Dr. Nambudiri at Healtheast St. John’s. I’ve met him once so far and like him. My Step-grandma also saw him and liked him. I had an aunt see Dr. Cheema at the same location and he comes highly recommended. So far I’ve really liked my treatment team at the Maplewood Breast Center. Dr. Ogren (breast surgeon) is my absolute favorite if you ever need one. She is amazing

Dr Ogren did my lumpectomy in 2005 and my bilat mast in 2012. lol Actually, when I found the lumps in my armpit a few weeks back, I called her office and talked to her nurse to ask what to do. Love that practice. I saw Dr Murphy at the Maplewood Center back then, but she's no longer in practice. I'll check out those docs and see if my insurance will cover them. Thank you so much! Love this forum!

Hello MN ladies! Didn't realize there was a Minnesota board! I live south of the cities in Faribault.

I hope everyone is staying safe during this interesting time.
