Any experience negotiating cash price

Has anyone had experience negotiating cash price for follow-up care?

Considering early retirement and will have COBRA for 18 months, but want to know anyone's experience with self pay options.

I have huge deductibles and ALWAYS try to negotiate. At my primary hospital, a big teaching hospital,

they gave me 50% off if I paid them all at once. Huge savings, obviously. Just go as far up the ladder

I agree with Denise. I negotiated too. If you can pay upfront with the discounted price by all means do it. I found they would rather get their $ on the front end than work out a pay schedule.

Thanks everyone. I know the right thing to do for me is to make this life change, early retirement, but it's a bit scary. You're thoughts and experienes do help.
