Ductal Excision- another waiting game

Hi all! I'm 38 and my mother has just finished treatment for her second time with BC. I've been reading the posts on this site since November when I was first notified of calcifications found in my mammogram.This is my first post as I am anxiously awaiting a ductal excision for bloody nipple discharge. I had a biopsy in Nov which was B9. I then got an infection from the biopsy which was treated, and then a month later noticed bloody discharge. This was tested and atypical cells were found but mammogram and MRI didn't show anything so the next step is to remove the ducts. Waiting for the procedure and results, not knowing what's going on is so stressful. In the meantime I have been diagnosed with the PalB2 genetic mutation and a prophylactic mastectomy has been suggested. It's been quite an overwhelming few months and I'm terrified of what the ductal excision results may be. The fear/stress is consuming me.Has anyone had a similar situation?

I’ve had bloody discharge for over a month now. Had diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound, and then mri which showed enlarged duct retaining blood and unknown debris. My options were to wait 3-6 months, or do duct excision. My mom passed away from bc, so it’s always a worry for me. I’m wondering if you had your procedure and how it went
