I have had implants for right at 3 years. It has been terrible! I assure you that I am not looking for the "perfect" breast... just something that isn't uncomfortable and looks ok under clothes. The recons were as follows... The first one was because of lots of weird skin "dog ears." Second was because they had fallen off to the sides under my skin and were virtually in my armpit. Third one was because they had virtually flattened because the pocket was too big for the implant. Now, I am in terrible pain underneath one of them and they are again spread out and flat.

I am finally able to go to a different doctor because my insurance changed to where I can see anyone. I went to her once for a consultation before the third reconstruction. Here's the deal. She says that I have the largest silicone implants that they make, but that I need larger. She said that she has been given permission to overfill saline ones that would give me a good size. I have never been a full C cup since reconstruction, even with the largest ones. Now I really look flat chested because they are spread out everywhere.

I'm not sure if I should do this or what I should do. I know that I either have them removed altogether or have them done right. I'm so sick of dealing with this. My husband is not good with me going flat, and I really don't want to either, so I guess I need to do it right?

Any suggestions or tips as I begin with this new ps?

hi JustAmy- so sorry you’re dealing with this with your implants. I was told upfront that the implants would likely shift and need more revision surgeries (this was due to other tissue issues I have). From there I went with DIEP flap recon and I don’t regret it at all. I was a C/D before surgery and I’m back there now. They look just like my originals only perkier (like when i was 20)so clothes or even topless is no problem. Have you considered natural tissue recon vs implants?

I don't think anything other than implants is covered under my medicare. I'm seriously considering getting them taken out and going flat. I say that now because I am up at 4:30am from pain. My 1st PS was just terrible, but I didn't have any other options with my insurance at the time. I really don't want to deal with it. Thanks for your response. I will talk to my new PS about it.
