Weight Loss After Steroids

Yippee. Chemo is finally over. I gained 30 pounds dinero steroids and eating too many sweets. How long does it take to lose the pounds after steroids?

TreysRib - Thank God Chemo is over for you! I have gained 10lbs, but lost a lot of muscle mass, so I know how frustrated you feel. My question is - do you think some of it is fluid? I ask, because I had originally gained 15+lbs and have not lost about 4lbs since my fluid in my breast and body is decreasing. I take B12 and that seems to help with the fluid. Steroids are known for producing fluid, so you may want to ask MO if he/she thinks that may be some of the weight gain.

Treys, congrats on finishing chemo! I too gained weight, but from Aromasin, which is the steroidal aromatase inhibitor given to women who have ER+ bc. Once I went off that drug, I lost pretty quickly, tbh. I also exercise more regularly now so that helped too. I still have a few lbs to go, but I'm glad it's mostly gone!Join the Let's Post Our Daily Exercise thread to be inspired!
