Confused on pathology with lymph node status

After pathology of my umx I was told that the lymph node was negative. I did have one intramammary lymph node positive for metastic carcimona. But what I’m truly confused about is in my report dealing with staging

Primary Tumor (Invasive Carcinoma) was pT2

Category (pN) was pN1a: Metastases in 1 to 3 lymph nodes at least 1 metastasis greater than 2mm.

Also it says:Number of Lymph Nodes with Macrometastases (>2mm) : Specify number:1

Confused and concerned. Hopefully I’m worried for nothing.

Also the intramammary lymph node told not to worry because it was removed with mastectomy. Sound right?

They may have taken an Axillary node and tested it, which may be the negative node to which they are referring. Your surgeon should be able to clarify that for you if you can message him/her or ask at follow up. I would think they would take the intramammary node with mastectomy

Thank you! I met with my mo but her bedside manner is not the best. I’m sending my report for a second opinion. I’m not sure I’m explaining well enough without seeing the report. Thank you KBee for the quick response.
