Hi girls,

I wonder if anyone out there who has had a Latissimus Dorsi with recurrence would have some advice? I had the implant removed 13 months ago but never got clearance due to 'shadows' 'nodules' on that side. They then, eventually, biopsied one of three nodules along the intercostobrachial nerve line which has come back positive. They are treating this as a 'local reoccurence'. This is my 3rd reoccurence. I am to start radiotherapy once a pet scan and mri has been done.
They are also talking about preventative radiotherapy along chest wall/mammary glands, I am very hesitant to go along with 'preventative' measures as I feel I have enough going on at the moment. I have ongoing pain/discomfort (which I have posted about previously) from the intercostobrachial nerve being severed, I must add that I read about this nerve on this forum and had to bring it up with the Specialist as, prior to this, anything I mentioned about it seemed to fall on deaf ears, I don't like to make a fuss either which I think did not help! The nerve was damaged during a hookwire biopsy, which I should never have agreed to it in the first place with this type of surgery.

Anyway any advice would be appreciated, I am wary of the radiotherapy as I am just under 50kg and worried that the radiotherapy will affect the lat dorsi even further, they have mentioned the risk of lymphodema on that side.

Love this Site, so many well informed/educated girls on board!
