I am curious to find out to what extend you are required to turn your neck during an ultrasound core biopsy. My neck is extremely and swollen from surgery five days ago. Also how would you describe a dense breast core biopsy in terms of pain during the procedure? Any information is appreciated

They will get you comfortable. I think I had my head turning the other way but I think they could have done it with head straight. I can't see why not. I was fussy with arm position since my arms fall asleep over my head. They let me figure out how I was most comfortable.

The biopsy didn't hurt. Teeny tiny lidocaine shot. Didn't feel anything else!

Thank you for the information. Hopefully it will go okay so I can stop worrying about it and the results of the parathyroid tumor and the breast suspicious area

I just remember lying on my back on the table and not having to be positioned any special way

I went for my biopsy today. The ultrasound and actual sampling did not hurt my neck but the mammogram afterward had to be done different. The radiologist apologized for the hematoma that I got from the biopsy though

Be sure to wear a tight bra or sports bra both day and night and use ice packs to help keep the hematoma in check. You are one step closer to getting all of your results! Good luck

Sorry about your hematoma. I had one and it really hurt. I also had to do the tight sports bra. Keep ice on it! Mine took a long time to go away--hang in there!

Thank you to everyone for the hematoma advice. Did any of you have neck, shoulder and back pain after the biopsy? I am assuming it is a pinched nerve because my hand is going numb too. I know I am not supposed to excessive but I am doing some stretches to relax the muscles. The nerve pain is making it impossible to rest
