Ductoscopy

I am looking for a doctor/breast center that does ductoscopy. I can't seem to find anyone that offers it in the Atlanta, GA area. I have had bilateral bloody discharge that went away after about a week and a half. (one breast had it, stopped and then the other had it as soon as the first stopped) One surgeon told me that I should have the individual ducts removed, but that he couldn't tell which ones, since the bleeding has stopped now and another surgeon said he wanted to take out all of the ducts on both sides. I would like to avoid duct excision if possible, but will do it if necessary.

I've read that some of you have had a ductoscopy and I would love to know where you went for it.

To better help you identify some members here who have had this procedure, we'd suggest using the Search function (blue button in the navigation bar to the left of your screen), typing in the term "Ductoscopy" in the search field, and then sending PMs to members who you think may be able to offer some insight.

Others may post here on this thread, too, but we thought this might be a good solution since your post hasn't gotten much traction.

They are also called ductograms. I had one, but I'm in the Pittsburgh area so that won't help you. I'm sure any large woman's hospital should do this procedure.

From my research, the ductoscopy appears to be different from the ductogram. It appears that the ductoscopy uses a very thin fiber optic scope to look inside the ducts, obtain tissue, etc. Kind of a colonoscopy for your breast ducts.

Thank you for responding. I'm actually willing to travel a little if needed. So far it looks like even the large teaching hospitals here don't do it.
