Friend found a lump that is huge

My best friend just found a lump directly under her nipple. if she lies on her back, it feels like the size of a golf ball! Dr's did a biopsy, also on lymph nodes. They said the lump itself is estimated at 9cm. Node results back negative, still waiting on the lump itself. Question is, what are the chances of a lump if it is cancerous being that big, with no node involvement, and no nipple discharge or retraction? Thanks in advance.

    So sorry for your friend. A lump is not always cancerous but the size doesn’t dictate or not node involvement and whether it’s cancer or not. There are many women with BC with large tumors and negative nodes and vice versa for that matter.

    Still she doesn’t know if it’s cancer or not. Hope it’s not.

    Lobular Cancer is known for large lumps.
