Hi, looking for some advice here. I have been back working for a few years now, under an agreement that I work right where I am now. Recently there was some restructuring sort of and essentially I was told I was being moved to a busier, higher stress area with more demands on time, i.e. less work around with appointments, sick days etc. I would have to learn pretty much a new job similar to my own, policies etc, and would have a large caseload to oversee. This is to fill a vacancy someone else left, and I'm not the only one who can fill it.

My current job that I have worked in for a number of years, has not been made redundant, there have been no issues with my work performance (to the contrary actually - excellent performance evaluations) and I was told I was selected just because. This is not a promotion, needless to say, and is something that I feel would have a negative effect on my health, and I said so.

Essentially I'm now being told that I will have to go through a medical and detailed evaluation regarding my limitations (which I currently don't have in this job, I might add), and then they will decide where to place me. My world has been turned upside down, I haven't been sleeping, eating right, had upset stomach, and generally been under enormous stress about this. My employer is aware that I continue to receive treatments that affect my health on a regular basis (mostly the Lupron and arimidex these days) and I'm left still with effects from chemo etc. That went over like a lead balloon. I was told that the original agreement no longer mattered.

Has anyone else ever faced a similar situation? I know it is illegal to discriminate based on a cancer diagnosis but I'm not sure if this actually fits here. I've never declared myself physically disabled as I've been more than capable of doing my current job.

I'm really concerned that my doctor is going to be less than helpful with this, as he is the 2 minute fill a prescription kind of doctor and once told me years ago that I wasn't doing chemo anymore so he didn't know what to say when it came to RTW, and he does NOT like filling out forms. My oncologist has told me they don't deal with this stuff, because I'm in remission. I'm waiting to hear back from a cancer patient navigator, and at this point, I don't know where else to turn.
