I wanted to share my journey so far with aromatase inhibitors.  My oncology doctor started my on letrozle in early June 2017, about one month out from my mastectomy surgery.  By August, I was suffering from severe joint and bone pain, but the worst side effect was an overwhelming feeling of depression.  I had never felt this way in my life.  My oncologist changed my medication to anastrozole in early October 2017.  So far (4+ months out), I still have some joint pain, but no feelings of depression - hooray!  Right now, I believe I can continue to take the anastrozole for the required time of at least 7 years.  I take Caltrate with vitamin D3 as protection against thinning bones.  I also take Osteo Bi-Flex for help with the joint pain.  I find that a long and thorough stretch first thing in the morning is beneficial - I do this before I get out of bed.  In addition, I try to walk at least 1.5 miles each day.
