hello. My son is 4 months old and I've had mastitis twice. I'm on my third round of similar symptoms, but this time no fever or body aches. Just a red, tight, heaviness on my breast near my sternum. It's been a week. I'm panicked. Could it be IBC?

In a lactating breast it's far more likely to be mastitis or possibly an abscess forming. I'd be more likely to consider that your previous mastitis was not properly or fully treated.

Remember the adage - if you hear hoofbeats & you're in North America, think horses, not zebras.

IMO you should consult a qualified GP on Monday to have this properly diagnosed and treated because even if it's 'only' recurrent mastitis, it requires medical intervention. I would also suggest a consult with an IBCLC for advice on prevention.
