Back from the ER

Day 5 early morning I woke up with severe dizziness and nausea and haven't taken any pain medication since leaving the hospital last Friday after the Lumpectomy. I actually had some phenergen that I took but it didn't help that much. I was afraid I was getting the flu but had no fever just severe nausea, stomach pain, and dizziness. After being unable to drink any liquid for about 10 hours I started getting worried. I reported all this to my surgeon.

However I live 2 hours away so ended having to call 911 to go to the local hospital. The ambulance ride was murder on my back and surgery areas (very bumpy roads). Having hard veins to find and limited areas for the blood pressure cuff this was a problem. I can see going forward that this will continue to be an issue. Diagnosed with extreme Vertigo and given lots of meds to treat that. There's fluid in my ears and now that I'm not so sick I think I have a sinus infection, which I usually kind of anticipate when my ears get plugged up and there's sinus pressure. But I guess with recovering from surgery I didn't think about it.

I'm home feeling well enough to sit up and eating plain crackers and water. Started on antibiotics for the sinus infection. The worst part is I had an app't with Onc Gyn at the hospital where my surgery was and had waited 2 months to get in.

Hugs to you. So sorry you are sick.

I know whats it like to have surgery and then right after get sick. Its scary (you think complications from surgery of course) and then when you find out you have a virus or sinus infection or flu or whatever, you need to go thru getting over that and surgery.

Its good to know it will get better. You are in my prayers.

I have suffered from vertigo, it's awful. If it doesn't improve go to an ENT, they can do the Epley Maneuver on you that cures vertigo! It worked for me.

Thanks for the replies. That maneuver never works on me because there's usually a cause for the Vertigo. This time it's a sinus infection and the antibiotics are already working and my ears are starting to unplug. I think we're having an early Spring here with lots of pollen already that plugs up my sinuses also. Hopefully, on to better days.
