Hi Everyone,

I'm turning 26 this year. Today, I found a very....rubbery lump in my left breast while I was doing a self exam. It's not attached, it kept wiggling away when i was laying on my back, and it's much more pronounced when I am sitting up. The lump feels very irregular and mushy, not hard at all. My doctor diagnosed me with fibrocystic breasts last year, and my left breast has always been bumpy and I am dealing with some nipple discharge that has been diagnosed as benign and part of the fibrocystic breasts. My doctor took a look today and couldn't feel the lump but considered an ultrasound, ultimately changing his mind He told me to watch the lump and if it got bigger or began to harden then to get my butt back in there. I called back that afternoon and asked for the ultrasound just to be on the safe side but I haven't heard anything back yet, hopefully tomorrow.

My mom also just completed BC treatment last November and other than that, there's no other history in the family and we are BRCA negative. I am oddly kind of calm about this but I'm still a little worried. Does this sound like something I should be concerned about? Or does it sound like part of the fibrocystic. I was warned I might get lumps but I haven't yet so this is kind of alarming. My left breast has always been really dense but no...lumps? For lack of a better word.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated to ease my jumpy mind until I hear back from the doc's tomorrow. Thank you all so much.

Regina

Edit: In 2015 I had an ultrasound on the same breast, I had found a hard circular lump located right next to a rib and it turned out to be a cyst.

I'm definitely not an expert but I suppose from what I've read, it sounds like a simple cyst at this point. But I will say that I had a similar lump, though more "fixed" under my skin and had it biopsied today and the radiologist is saying that it's likely a phyllodes tumor. It was fluid in October and by January was solid, irregular, and twice the size...lol..so maybe he wants to make sure it doesn't end up being one of those phyllodes because again, from what I've read, they can be a cause for concern and are typically removed.
