    Has anyone been told by their breast surgeon they don't need radiation without seeing a radiation oncologist? With stage 1a..im not sure if it's necessary to see one?

    Jlove1821 - what was the exact diagnosis? Is your breast surgeon part of a cancer team? Initially my diagnosis was stage 1, grade 1 and the tumor wasn’t less than 1 cm and radiation was on thectable

    Hi JLove. If you are over 70, it is actually correct that you don't need radiation. But, like everything except the diagnosis, there are choices about treatment and they are yours to make. Would you mind sharing your age and ER status?
