I know I shouldn't, but...

edited January 2018 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

It's not my first ride on the cancer-scare express. The last one landed me with a diagnosis of Achalasia after I'd spent much too long unable to eat or swallow or keep food down, and taking the doctors at their word that I had nothing but a little heartburn. I ended up needing my digestive tract rerouted and my diet has become greatly restrictive. So... on Saturday morning when I awoke to a black and purple discoloration over a third of my right breast that extends into the nipple area, and a hardening beneath the affected area, I felt more than a little concerned. I'm 46 and a writer, sedate yes, but not someone who walks into doorknobs or counter corners with my boobs, or slams them in car doors for that matter. It looks like someone punched me repeatedly in the tit until it's black and deep purple, only the shape is irregular and spread around. Not at all normal, even if I had some sort of boob trauma, only I haven't. In fact, I have never, ever in my life had a bruise on my boob after any activity and I'd been a marathon runner and rock climber until my health stopped me cold, so if I was going to incur trauma to my breast, I'd have done so at some point and would be familiar with what that looks like. Never happened, but this has, and it's weird and really concerning. The only thing that has ever come close to looking like this was after my surgery two years ago and my abdomen looked like I'd been in a boxing match. But not my breasts, ever. Yes, it itches a little bit, but mostly, it just feels "odd" or just "slightly heavier than the left" but not necessarily swollen as the left has always been the larger of the two (I have asymmetrical boobs) Has ANYONE experienced this, and aside from making an appointment with my doctor ASAP, will someone please tell me to stop googling this, like right now?
