Problem with Steri Strips

I followed instructions and took off the bandages this afternoon, then showered. My incisions are about 2 inches long and there's a steri strip over it. One end of the underarm steri strip popped all the way off. I stuck it back on but I don't think it will stay. Then I put a small piece of surgical tape (which this type looks like it's breathable) on each end to hold it on. I know these are meant to stay on longer than 2 days. I wonder if this is sufficient.
