I am 18 years old- turning 19 next week and I am worried that I may have breast cancer.

About 3 months ago I noticed my breasts were a little asymmetrical, which I know is normal for many people and I didn't think anything of it. Within the last 2 weeks my left breast has doubled in size of my right and I have dry skin around that nipple as well. I went to the doctor a few days ago and she noticed swollen lymph nodes in my left armpit. she put me on antibiotics to rule out infection and I am scheduled to go back in a week. she said if the anti bionics don't make any changes, she wants me to see a specialist.I have already been on the antibiotics now for 6 doses and I see no difference. I am very worried,. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I'm sure this is quite scary, but you're on the right track. At your age breast cancer is effectively non-existent. However, there are many benign conditions that can cause wonky and bothersome breast symptoms. So, I'm glad you're seeing a doctor. If the antibiotics don't help, the next step would be seeing a breast specialist. Not because she believes you have cancer, but because her specialty is NOT breasts. Best of luck to you.
