I had a mammogram last week and got the report stating that's there's a lobulated irregular focal asymmetry. Not sure on what that means. I need to have more imagings done which would make it being the 4th time in 10yrs. I'm freaking out. Does anyone know what this means? I would appreciate any info.

Hi there. Looks like the report is saying it is an area with irregular margins, which means it may not be a cyst. But that does NOT mean it's breast cancer. If they've checked it our four times via mammography or ultrasound, you might want to ask if it's time for an MRI or a biopsy, just to put your mind at ease if nothing else. Thinking good thoughts for you; I know the uncertainty is stressful.

Thanks for replying, a friend who's an LPN said that's it's nothing to worry about and I want to believe her but I can't. I'm so worried that I made an appt with a breast Dr to discuss this. I don't feel any lumps but it's noted as 2.0 x 1.5 cm which again I don't fully understand. Scared and nervous.
