Call back after a screening mammogram

Had a screening 3D mammo the other day and received a call the next day saying the radiologist needs to have me come back in for a diagnostic mammo and u/s. I was told the rad saw an area new on the report that could either be a my muscle or maybe a new density. This is not my first mammo. I do have known dense breasts. I am on birth control pills and it was the day before my period came so not sure if that could impact anything. I go next week for the follow-up. I'm a nervous wreck. My mind keeps wandering. Looking for similar experiences or feedback from other members. Thank you.

Call backs are very common. Don't panic. They found something new so they want to know what figure out what it is. Does it mean it's cancer? Nope, not by a long shot.

Get copies of your screening mammo report and the diagnostic one. Post what they say here, and we can help you better understand what the medical-ease is saying
