CHEK 2 vs BRCA 2

I was under the impression that CHEK 2 and BRCA 2 were the same now I am not sure. If not what’s the difference and which is worse

    No, they are different gene mutations. Chek2 is much more rare than BRCA2. As for which is worse, I think it's a toss up. Depending on your family history, your breast cancer risk can be equal.

    I have Chek2 and PALB2 mutations, both of which are more rare than the BRCAs. They put me at 45%+ risk of BC, solidly in the BRCA2 risk territory. My DD24 also has both. Her BC risk is 58%+, almost the same risk as BRCA1.
