Had mri done today received my results tonight:(
Hi so I did my mri this morning at 8:30. My dr called me tonight around 6. He said my test show something in both breast. Which confused me cause it was my left breast that my mammogram and ultrasound picked something up. Birads was a 4 so I’m advised to call for a biopsy appointment. He said their still not sure what it is. I don’t know is it good that it’s in both breast possible less chance it’s cancer or still good possibility

Try to keep in mind that false positives are common with MRIs. Good luck and keep us posted

Good luck with the biopsy!
I'm in a similar boat - I had an MRI on Thursday, and heard back from my dr yesterday. I have to go back to the radiologist today for a follow-up targeted u/s, and if that doesn't give a clear image then my dr is recommending an MRI-guided biopsy.
-
hello...do u recall if your MRI technician asked you to hold your breath at times when images are being recorded? My technicuan never gave me any breath-holding instructions and I’m afraid the images weren’t clear...

Hi Maxxine
There is no need to hold your breath for a MRI of the breasts.
Lying still and normal breathing - that is all.
-
Hi! no was never asked to hold my breath. The whole thing only took about 18 minuets. So it wasn’t that bad. this whole thing is so confusing and frustrating. I want it over with already. I was under the impression that anything cancer is noticeable. With having 2 mammograms an ultrasound and an mri I would think they would know what their looking at. I understand everything is to be pro couscous. But I’m getting nothing. “Like tell me it could be cancer, or no it’s not this is just procedure. All I’m getting is we don’t know (suspicious)
-
I didn't have to hold my breath either - it was actually kind of relaxing
!
It's a good thing I didn't mind it, since I believe my next step is an MRI-guided biopsy...just waiting on my dr to give me a call.
-
I’m waiting for my call too. I need 2 mri guided biopsies and a sterotatic biopsy.

A mass on both sides could be benign or malignant. I believe it is more common to have benign lumps when both sides are affected though. I personally have a benign fibroadenoma on the right and another on the left that is presumed benign because it shrank between ultrasounds. They didn't biopsy that one because they were pretty certain it was the same thing.
