New to the forum
I was diagnosed12/21/17, 5 days after I had to put my beloved pet down. I have Stage 1, Grade 3 ( triple negative). Biopsy started good and last draw hurt. This week is Savi Scout, I’m stressed ( only because I stress over needles) and surgery is Friday, lumpectomy right breast and then will only need radiation. This website is beyond a blessing and god bless all of you going through the same if not tougher treatments. I have been educating myself and talking to others and feel much more at ease.

Hi! Sorry you need to be here, but it's a really helpful place. You may want to go to the January surgery thread for support!

Good luck with your surgery. Sebdubg hugs and good wishes. What is so great about this forum and the surgery thread forum is We're All in This Together.

What is Savi Scout?

I'm so sorry that you had to put your beloved pet down. As a mom to several for furbabies I know your heart must be breaking. Plus with the additional stress of dealing with BC. This is a tough time for you but it will get better.
-
I can relate to the pain of losing fur babies too. They take a piece of your heart with them. We love them so much and they are so devoted and loving.

trinitymom2,
Hi, I also had a savi scout placed before my lumpectomy. It wasn't bad. They squeeze your breast in a machine kind of like a mammogram and to me that was the hardest part but overall not very difficult. I'm sorry you are here but you've already found out there's alot of support available, you aren't alone.

We were diagnosed just about the same day...12/22/17 which happened to be my 71st birthday.
This is my 3rd time with bc starting in 1999, 2010 and now. Will be having a lumpectomy and radiation. All 3 cancers were found on mammogram. I feel like I'm in the movie 'Groundhog Day'. Here we go again. I am concerned but hopeful. You will get through this and life will continue.

Hi~I was diagnosed January 19, 2018. Trying to learn as much as I can, to prepare for the new journey & the new normal.

Nanaannie and myjourney62:
Please ask any and all questions. Someone here will answer. (Although Nan is unfortunately more experienced than most here.)

NanaAnnie, you are my hero! I had skin cancer (malignant melanoma) in my 20s so I was fairly prepared for the "rerun" of breast cancer. But my goodness you have been through a lot. Not that you need it from this young whippersnapper of a 59-year-old, but best wishes to you!
TrinityMom, the Lympectomy Lounge thread is really helpful.
MyJourney, please feel free to start a new topic and ask any questions you like. Finding out the size, grade and ER status of your BC right now is probably a good first step.
Hoping all the best for you all.

Jo, re SaviScout: most of us have a wire inserted prior to surgery, so the surgeon can find the right spot -- breasts look so different when we're lying down than they do when we're standing up for mammogram images. SaviScout is a different method to accomplish the same thing:

Thank you. I found so many threads have been helpful

welcome, and I'm sorry that you had to join us. It looks like you're well on your way through tx. Come back often. the people here are amazing and helpful. When is your surgery date set for?

my journey 62- I was diagnosed 12/21/17. Stage 1, Grade 3 (triple negative) . I had lumpectomy yesterday 1/26/18. Very sore and uncomfortable to sleep. Just waiting for my pathology results ( on Wednesday) hoping my margins are clear and nodes are good so I will not need a second surgery. Our plan is for only radiation. I was shocked and learned from routine mammogram. Then I learned both paternal grandparents had cancer, grandma had breast cancer. I will be doing genetic testing to see if I carry the gene as I have a 20 year old daughter. I wish you the best and this website is the best for support and Q &A.
-
Hi again Trinitymom. Yep, so sorry but you will be uncomfortable for a while after lumpectomy. Once you can remove the bandages, shower and start stretching exercises you will feel tons better. Fingers crossed for a good path report.

Georgia1~ I actually received my Dx after my lumpectomy (1/11/2018). The biopsy I had on 9/18/2017 showed negative for cancer. So, I was shocked on 1/19/18 with my diagnosis. I go back to the Dr on 1/31/18 to plan my lymph node testing date. Believing for the best.
