Two questions
Has anyone ever experienced a recurrence withinone month of ending chemo?my sister aged 63 dx may 2017 had four rounds of AC and several weeks of taxol which ended December 19. Preparing for radiation after having declined a double mx. Very small tumor taken out via lumpectomy June 2017. Saturday January 20 felt a lump very near the scar line same size and consistency of original cancer. She is seeing breast surgeon we'd morning and oncologist is aware. Anyone have any experiences with this or thoughts regarding this? Any responses are so appreciate d.
Second question:I am having a blue dye injected on January 31 it's a scan after the injection .don't know procedures name but it's to review the level of nodal involvement a d the dye injected is supposedly going to hurt. Any thoughts about what drug or anxiety reducer or pain reducer I may request that won't compromise the procedure itself?
Also pet scan tomorrow to assess CPR. Thanks so much to all

I can't help with the first question but as far the second goes, I took ativan before every procedure/surgery.
When I had my dye injection I didn't take any pain reliever. It really wasn't that bad to me, others have a different experience. I know some get a cream to rub on the day before or something. Hopefully someone else can chime in as far as pain reliever.

I have read that the scar line is a very typical location for recurrence. Ugh! I am sad that it happened and has to be evaluated.
Please try to take a xanax. I didn't and they thought I was having a stroke.

I second the Ativan recommendation.
Also, for the injections, when I had this to send dye to the sentinel node (sounds like that is what you're having) someone here suggested I ask doctor for EMLA cream. It's a prescrip. You apply and it numbs the skin. I placed, put Saranwrap over my breast under clothing, went to appt and took it off just before the injection. Didn't feel a thing. I took Ativan too I believe. Ha ha. Some facilities will apply the EMLA for you but you have to ask in advance because you have to go in early.
There is a forum on BC.org talking about this subject. Some people feel nothing, others say it hurts. I seriously don't think I would have felt much even without the EMLA -- but glad I had it!

My facility wouldn't permit EMLA, but the dye injection wasn't bad for me.
