I am five weeks out from my surgery (December 21, 2017) and I am struggling with what my new normal is going to be like. I'm feeling very weepy and sad about feeling like I'm wearing a bra made out of plastic cups. I also have 4“ x 8“ x 2“ thick oval hard patches underneath each arm pit. I just want to know if this feeling is ever going away.

Sorry to be a downer, thanks in advance ...

    Hi Madre,

There is a thread on this site related to the Pedicle Tram Flap in 2012 and developed hernias that were repaired in 2013. It’s not an easy road but, it’s doable. Our bodies change drastically. I remember much of the same feelings and can sympathize. I never had many breast issues...mostly abdominal. I don’t get on here often.and hopefully you can find the thread on Trams and bulges as it contains a lot of helpful information. I’m on FB under Tori Gaskins if you want to chat privately. I was left with small, poorly shaped breasts. I’ve had 5 fat grafting procedures since my Tram as well. I’m at the end of my journey now and although I’ll never be who I was before this surgery, I’m a new version and learning to live with this new body. I’ve a closed FB group of ladies that also understand. But it pertains to abdominal hernias. However, I can introduce you to so many more sisters in this journey that can be a support network. All who understand the physical and emotional. Sending gentle (hugs).

    Tori

Thanks so much Tori! I will look for that thread. I was thinking that I probably posted this in the wrong place...🤨 Right now I am feeling emotional about the physical feelings and not as much on how things look. Kinda weird, like I’m trying to compartmentalize(sp) what I’m processing...

If you don’t mind, I will look you up on Facebook. I do need to get some support...Thank you
