Did anyone get uterine cancer from Tamoxifen or other treatments? Going in for a DNC this week b/c my uterine lining went from a 5 to a 21 and had abnormalities. Never had any fibroids or endometriosis previously so they said it's clearly a result of the tamoxifen.. I have only been on Tamoxifen for 6 months too. Anyone else been through this before? Do they usually suggest removal of the uterus ? Can you still stay on Tamoxifen if you remove your uterus? I had sever side effects with Lupron and Arimidex so I would like to stay on Tamoxifen but am now worried about it's effect on my uterus and possible uterine cancer.

thank you for any advice !

My SIL got the ENDO cancer from tamoxifen. Her doctor ignored her till it was too late to save her life.

She had tumors she could feel. They immediately took her off tamoxifen after she insisted on a biopsy. Then chemo, surgery more chemo.

Don't ignore it I would suggest getting a couple different oncologists opinions. Getting cancer from tamoxifen is rare but it does happen.

I just had a endometrial biopsy yesterday. My lining doubled from last year. This is the second biopsy I’ve had in 4 years. I’m hoping the results are negative again this time around.

    • So sorry you have to deal with this..my endometrium more than doubled in thickness after a year onTamoxifen but thankfully the biopsies were negative for endometrial cancer. My GYN recommended a hysterectomy since I wanted to stay on the Tamoxifen and I had a very large fibroid in addition to the thickness but no cancer. I wish you the best (((hugs))) Maureen

Thank you for sharing your stories. Jen - good luck with your biopsy.

I was on Lupron and AI for 8 months so they put me into menopause and then took me off, went back into premopause (I am 48) and then started Tamoxifen 6 months ago. 21 cm is pretty thick. It is so painful too! Maybe the switching treatments had a negative effect - or can only 6 months of tamoxifen cause that many problems? My previous lining was 5-6 cm 18 months ago. Praying for it to be benign.

Maureen - if I am clear I am going the hysterectomy route too as I hope to stay on tamoxifen as AI and Lupron I couldn't tolerate.

Very interesting thread. I was diagnosed with ADH last month. Excisional biopsy will be Feb. 2. My surgical oncologist said if there is no upgrade, he’d like to put me on Tamoxifen for the ADH. I had an ablation three years ago, so I worry about the reports of endo lining thickening. I had a thick lining and uterine polyps when they did the ablation
