Biopsy today
I received a call back that I had an abnormal mammogram. Today I went in for a diagnostic mammogram along with an ultrasound.
According to the radiologist I have a "worrisome" area. He said it appears to be cancerous. He took a biopsy and I should know tomorrow. I believe he said it was 4 mm
I am not doing well with the waiting and my mind is going a mile a minute.
Any help/suggestions, etc would be great

Thinking of you Kati! I hope it's benign !

Hi there Kati. It's good that the suspicious area is small, and odds are it is benign. It's super hard, but try to be optimistic, stick to your normal routine, and get some exercise in the coming days. There will be a lot -- too much -- of waiting around for test results I'm afraid. Try not to get ahead of yourself.

hi Katie, any news? Sending positive vibes your way

Hi. The biopsy came back yesterday. I have breast cancer. Still very surreal and I get choked up when I say it. It is IDC and was about 9 mm. I have an appointment Tuesday with a surgeon.
Needless to say, I'm very sad and freaking out. My mind going to worst case scenarios
-
Prayers for you Kati. Did you choose your surgeon or it was referred to you by the radiologist? My biopsy results are tomorrow (Friday 19) at 10am. I am expecting cancer
-
Hugs and prayers for you Kati, and Ella too

Ella, I know this is stressful. I'm praying for a good result!!! The appointment I have is with a surgeon at the breast center I go t

hi Ella- I had biopsy the 17th after abnormal mammogram & ultrasound. The dr told me there's a 98% chance it's breast cancer. I'm expecting confirmed results tomorrow, but I too, already know what to expect. -
I got a call on the day I was suppose to go to the doctor and get the results..... the nurse told me "Good news it is not cancer. Bye!". I did ask what is it, but she was in such a hurry that I did not fully understand. Anyhow, I asked for the report to be sent to me. It is finally here and it says "nonproliferative fibrocystic change showing focally prominent stromal fibrosis". I have no clue what it means (of course I Google it). I had an appointment with my GYN doctor and she said "do not worry, it is nothing". But I am still worried. Should I ask for a second opinion?
-
Ella, sounds like they are finding a fancy pants way to tell you that you have dense breasts. I think that's great news and requires celebration, not a second opinion!

Kati218, I know this stage is so awful, but please remember that 9 mm is super tiny. You may be able to do a lumpectomy + radiation (I did) which means this will be behind you before you know it. Please let us know how we can help.
