Nipple Skin Graft and Radiation?

Hi all,

I just had a second lx (margins not clean on the first one) and as a result the surgeon had to do a “free skin graft” of my nipple. As I understand it, they completely took off my nipple and then reattached it as a skin graft. So if it “takes” I will have a nipple, but it won’t have any feeling. The surgeon said it was only a 5% chance that he would have to do the graft, so we didn’t talk much about it. Unfortunately I was in that 5% group...... I don’t see the surgeon for another two weeks. So I’m left without a lot of information right now. I am the most concerned about the impact of radiation on my skin graft.

Has anyone out there had a nipple skin graft and then gone through radiation? If so, I would love to hear your experiences.
