Frustrated over waiting
Heyy! I just want to vent out my frustration. Wednesday, last week, I had a biopsy during which the radiologist said, that looks bad. I was supposed to receive a call this Wednesday with the appointment, there was no call. I called them myself and got a reply that they do not give the results over the phone, only face to face. Ok, I do understand that. Got the call today with the docs appointment on Monday. Meanwhile, yesterday, I got a letter which came home with a scheduled appointment to see a doctor for beginning of March. Now i am supposed to live with no information over the weekend. I do not know what to think at all. Is it a good thing that doc will see me on monday, tell me the results and if the lump is benign then it is just a check up after 2 months...? Or how often the benign condition is checked up? And is it checked up by a doctor or ultrasound (which is performed by radiologist and not that one particular doc in question).
Or it is something bad and they are just issuing the scheduled appointments with the doctor in charge...
One really difficult weekend ahead...

Hi there. I'm sorry you're so frustrated. I too am playing the waiting game with results. Had 2 biopsies done on Monday and they told me it would be a week for results. I have suspicious calcifications that appear to be linear in formation (not good). I just keep telling myself that getting myself worked up and stressing will do nothing to change the outcome at this point. Hang in there, I too will be on pins and needles all weekend!

I had my biopsy this past Monday, too. Looks like we’re all waiting together. I work weekends and I’d have to call off if I got word it was cancer. They said BI-RADS 4, but the mass is solid, spiculated, irregular, non-parallel, with acoustic shadowing. Having more than one of those descriptors warrants a 5, but for whatever reason, they put 4 on the report. Im supposedly in this world-class university’s hospital, but I ain’t feeling it.
Good luck. The only way out is through

Weekend is over and got the results for both of the lumps. Breast cancer, grade 2 they say. Surgery for removing the lumps is scheduled to the 7th of February. Doc strongly suggested the mastectomy but fo now as I am not ready to go through with it, it will be just the removal of the lumps + 5 weeks of radiotherapy.
Somehow it feels now a bit easier when I know what im facing here and have the schedule and all... Now I will just deal with it.

Hi there Kris and I'm sorry it turned out to be BC. There are plenty of smart wpmen here if you have any questions. I myself had two small tumors close together and had a lumpectomy + radiation and everything turned out fine. We are here to help, and if you want a posse as you go through this you may want to say hello over in the "lumpectomy lounge."
