Women with hot flashes starting tamoxifen-How bad does it get?

I am facing 5 (possibly 10) years of tamoxifen therapy following a lumpectomy in December. As it is, I have probably over 20 hot flashes a day (at least 1-2 per hour), sometimes with palpatations and slight nausea (almost like the feeling of going into shock). How much worse do they become on tamoxifen? I am very concerned about the quality of life on this drug.

    They’re definitely not fun. I took Effexor to help with the HF. Mine got really bad after I had an oophorectomy. I amno longer on HT, but I still have a couple dozen HF per day. Exercise helps. Sugar makes it worse I think.
