I've recently found a 10cm Fibroadenoma in my breast. I went to the GP who sent me to the breast clinic, I had a ultrasound and a biopsy which came back as Fibroadenoma. The doctor at the breast clinic does not want to remove it as it will cause my breast to be deformed but I really want it removing as i'm 22 and don't want the lump inside of me. It's getting to the point where one breast is bigger than the other and I think the Fibro will just keep growing.

The biopsy has bruised me quite badly so I have to go for another ultrasound in 6 weeks to make sure no lasting damage is done. Would you insist on the Fibro to be removed?

10 cm? So approx 4"....well at some point I would think it would have to come out because as you age, it will just obscure possible concerns in the future.

Would I want it removed? Yes, I would. I think I would also ask for a second opinion.

    Hi

I had a fibroadenoma a few years older than you are, I think I was either 23 or 24. mine was smaller than yours (2.5 cm). I had a 6 months check up for 2 years and then yearly u/s. my diagnosis was independent of the fibro. my fibro didn't hurt and never grew.

My cousin had a differènt experience. hers were scattered fibros and painful so she had to remove them.

I would get a second opinion and I would go with my gut feel and what would make me sleep at night.

    good luck.

    Lola
