Forgive me because this is long, but I could use some advice.

Today is 1 year since my exchange surgery and I had a checkup with my PS to discuss next steps. I have a LOT of rippling (mostly in my cleavage area)- which the PS says is due to my thin skin and small frame. I have 400cc textured round gummies. The rippling happens when I stand straight up with no bra, but is enhanced when I move to one side or the other. There is no rippling when I have any bra on (even one with very minimal support). I hate the look of the rippling, and even more, I hate how it feels when I touch that area.

I have 3 options. First, I can do nothing. No more procedures, no recovery, no pain, no exercise limitations, etc. And I will look fine in clothes. And of course this is the least expensive option, as I'd still have to satisfy the minimum of my out of pocket for insurance.

Second, I can have fat grafting. He would take fat from my thighs/hips because I don't have much fat on my belly. The biggest pro is that I will lose a little fat from an area of my body that is much bigger in proportion to the rest of my body (which has bothered me for a LONG time) and that the procedure itself isn't as invasive as another surgery (which will be option 3). The cons are that I may need multiple procedures (and recovery times), it will cause discomfort in my donor area, and I will not be allowed to work out for a month (I work out fairly intensely almost every day). There may be some lumps that form from the deposited fat, and that can cause scares that the cancer is back, though they can easily scan these lumps to ensure it's not cancer.

Third, he can swap out my implants for slightly larger implants. He expects this will fill out my skin a bit better and eliminate the rippling. He would do 420cc, and likely switch to the smooth surface implants to minimize the chances of anaplastic large cell lymphoma that are slightly more associated with the textured implants. I wouldn't switch the textured out just for that reason as the risk is so minimal, but might as well if I'm switching them for another reason. Pros - only one procedure. Cons - I would be bigger (and I already feel like my boobs are as big as I want them), it would be another surgery complete with its risks, and I would still have my giant butt and hips ;) Oh, and also no exercise for about a month - but it would just be once.

Do any of you have thoughts/advice to share? I want to add that at 44 with hopefully many years ahead of me, I don't know that I want to just accept the rippling.

I had two fat grafts from my thighs during my exchange (like you, little fat on my stomach) and nipple creation surgeries that I'm sure helped keep rippling to a minimum. I, personally, would recommend that as I'm very happy with my results. Larger implants will most likely still ripple quite a bit without fat grafting. I've had no problems with lumps of fat on my foobs, either. You're right about the recovery, though, you'll have to wait for a while to workout after fat grafting.

Hi mom2allboys, I originally had 420 cc moderate plus profile anatomicals and they developed bad rippling, especially the left one. I exchanged them for 545 cc Mentor CPG high profile anatomicals which I have now had for more than 12 months - and there is no rippling. The PS had originally told me he couldn't promise to fix the rippling but he did - he had said an extra 100 cc might fix it but it ended up being an extra 125 cc. I just had nipple recon last week and will have the colour tattooed on in 3 months.

I nearly didn't go ahead with the implant revision but am glad I did.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier - what did you decide to do?
