Can recurrent bronchitis be lung mets?

Options

I am approaching my 5 year anniversary and I'm nervous because I just battled two bouts of bronchitits. It all started before Thanksgiving with laryngitis. I had that for a week and it went into bronchitis. I took a z pack and an inhaler for a week and felt better. I then felt good for about 2 1/2 weeks and I woke up sick with bronchitis again. Was having shortness of breath, coughing up yellow phlegm, felt exhausted. They put me on another antibiotic and inhalers. It has been a week and I am feeling better. energy is back. Shortness of breath is gone. I still cough but not as much. Still have some mucous. Could this recurring bronchitis and yellow phlehm actually be lung mets? The doctors do not seem to think so since I got better for 2 1/2 weeks. They feel I would not have gotten better for that amount of time. They feel I would've stayed the same or gotten worse. I am getting blood work tomorrow and see my oncologist in two weeks. Of course my anxiety is on high alert because of all of this. And my 5 year anniversary is sunday and I would like to celebrate without this fear. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

My doc has always said that in the case of mets, symptoms do not improve. They stay the same or get worse. There ar ea lot of nasty viruses and bacterial illness around right now, and you need not do more than go to the store to be exposed to them all. Hoping you feel better soon...that your symptoms go away and stay away.

Thank you Karen. My doctors both said the same. They said that I would not have felt better. It would have been persistent and gotten worse. They said the viruses are bad this year and I probably picked up two different ones. Since I teach I am exposed to 600 kids in a week! And since I have asthma, all colds go right to bronchitis. I appreciate your reply as it is helping with my anxiety.

Maybe keep a daily symptom log on the notes on your phone. That will help you see trends over time. I do that and it really helps when I go to my appointments. It also is reassuring when I look back and see all of the other symptoms I've documented have resolved!
